This is Chuy, one of the owners of Sunrise Organics. We are SO proud to work with Sunrise Organics and we deeply appreciate the Salas family and their noble mission to bring loads of clean, nutritious, & affordable organic food to the people.  

In 2015, Chuy began farming in Carpinteria under the guidance of his father Jesus. They began on 10 acres, while Jesus continued his work as John Given’s farming foreman and Chuy dedicated all of his time and energy to their new farm. The father and son team were only able to work together on Sundays for almost 5 years, as they nurtured the growth of their farm from the little 10 acre spot to over 100 acres that they have today.

A little less than 6 months ago, Jesus finally parted ways with John Givens and has joined full steam ahead with his son.

As you can see by the photos, their farm is full on. Pictured below is their new farm in Buellton where they are gearing up to do 5 acre blocks of carrots at a time, along with all of the vegetables that they do for their Farmer’s markets, their farm stand, and for us.

They are truly going for it, and it is awesome to be a part of it.

While they work a seemingly never ending amount of time (100 hrs is a normal week), they are always happy and considerate to everyone regardless of their long work week. Chuy & his dad are truly stoked on life and their work and it shows.

They take incredible care of their crew, their customers, and put great pride into what they do.

As their new farm develops this winter, we will start diving into their story deeper. Stay tuned!
