Happy Farm Box Day! This week I am back in the kitchen and I made the most delicious kale caesar salad for y’all to try. I based my recipe off Samin Nosrat’s book, Salt Fat Acid Heat. If you haven’t heard, you gotta know. She is everything and more and her cookbook is not just a pile of recipes, but a life guide in the kitchen, on how to cook well with any ingredient. Not only does she have a killer book - she also has a really interesting 4 part series on Netflix. Check it out - you will for sure be inspired & feel more confident entering the kitchen.
The trick that makes this dressing my own is - one less tbsp of lemon juice, and add one tsp of hot sauce (trust me, it’s great). You can make the mayo at home, as listed below, or if you’re in a pinch, just grab a jar at the store. I hope you all give this yummy salad a try!! OH! and my other secret trick is slicing the kale real real thin. This dressing really spices up any salad, and make a little extra to throw it on some kale for a last minute dinner party!
Lastly, we are pretty big on trying to reduce waste within our business. Your part in helping us with reducing waste is bringing back your folded down boxes to us each week. Aren’t sure where to leave it? Ask someone at your pick-up spot, or leave it right where you picked up your box. If you can’t remember each week - no worries! Bring a fat stack back to our Farm Cart or to your local pick-up spot. This is really important for us, and we hope you can jump on board and help us out. The easiest way to not have to remember a thing, is to just bring a reusable bag on box day and load it up and leave your folded box behind. Thanks for your partnership in helping us be waste conscious & we appreciate you greatly!
