Hello everyone,

Happy box day. I hope you are as excited as I am to get my beautiful delivery of vibrant food today. I truly look forward re-vitalizing my refrigerator and my family with my box each week. It’s super cool for me to be a member these days, I hope that you feel the same.

And it’s awesome seeing the vitality coming out of Jose Alcantar’s new field down in Ventura. Your strawberries, carrots, and celery are all coming from ground that is obviously super rich and dense and it is showing.

I know I promised to have a questionnaire for you all today, but I don’t. I am coming up short today. But I will not be short again next week.

Because, we are genuinely trying to figure this Farm Cart project out at a deep level. And the most important part of this, is you. And figuring out what it is that you are seeking from your food. What concerns you have and what you are interested in learning more about.

Because I really don’t want to put my desires on you. For me, I am desperately intrigued by the fact that we are living in a time and place on earth where science is beginning to validate the profound importance of nature. But I am a nerd at heart, and I’m not sure if you get as turned on as I do to see that science is coming full circle to validate the farming practices of our grandparents, pre-chemical revolution. Science is beginning to understand the profound interrelationship of diversity and how the diversity of a colorful, clean plant based diet supports longevity and works to decrease the prevalence of all of the modern health ailments: cancer, diabetes, chronic inflammation, etc.

Because, like I said, I am a nerd. And I write long, run-on sentences, and that may not be your thing.

So, for next week, I will be sending out that questionnaire, and I would be insanely honored if you would answer as deeply as possibly so that I can really put my finger on what that special thing is that we should be focusing on.

Much love to you all,

Jason

In the meantime here’s a super cool podcast that I listened to this morning with Dr. William Li talking about the mechanism of food as medicine.

And here’s a little bit of motivation on what to do with your celery and why it is important for our health and why it keeps ending up in your box. (Celery Blog)
